Leadership

PSL is a place where one can feel safe and comfortable to talk about their feelings. We are there to ensure students’ wellbeing and aid in providing catchy and meaningful ways to cope with stress, studies, friends and so much more. I joined PSL as I have the heart to serve and the will to care and empathise with others. To me, PSL is more than just a role. It is also my family. PSL is one of my most fruitful and significant experiences in my secondary school life.

In 2023, I was appointed the EXCO role of the secretary. This opened many opportunities for me to grow not only as a leader, but also as a person. Ever since, I have been learning skills such as how to work with different people, problem-solving skills, how to plan and more. These skills help to better equip me for future endeavours.

My Projects

2023 Graduation Night for PSL seniors

From 28 January to 23 March 2023, I was in the graduation planning committee for logistics. The team and I had to plan everything. This includes props, decorations, activities, hand-made farewell boards, hosting meetings to plan with the other non-graduating PSLs, food and beverages.

Though the process was incredibly tiring and stressful due to the timeline and Weighted Assesment 1, the end result was worth it. Graduation night was filled with not only tears, but also wholesome memories.

This experience better prepared me as a leader, helping me
learn the right skill sets to plan and lead.

2023 7D6N Entrepreneurship Camp

Given the chance to join an entrepreneurship camp at NUSH from Nov 19-25, 2023, I hesitated due to my unfamiliarity with entrepreneurship. Yet, embracing the opportunity led to valuable learnings, including presenting to business owners and collaborating with diverse peers, fostering meaningful friendships.
In my group, we were proposing a online app, Soul-Care. This app was given the purpose of helping anyone of any age find a suitable therapist or be recommended to a psychiatrist. Though we did not receive an award, the rewarding experience made up for it.

Annual NTSS Orientation Camp

2023

I was part of the backup team in 2023 OC during the games segment. I would help with both logistics and game facilitators during the day itself, if needed. This taught me to learn how to prioritise duties and who to help people.

2024

In 2024, I was part of the finale planning team.We had the role of leading the team in planning the ending of the programme to end the orientation with a blast. From October to December, we worked hard with coordination and determination to make sure we do our part to the best of our abilities.
This role taught me to not only develop as a leader, but also as a teamplayer, growing to be more patient, kind and understanding towards my team members.

2024 I-LEAP Art Programme

Enrolling in a 5-day architecture course out of curiosity, I emerged with a rewarding experience despite my initial lack of architectural knowledge

Through creative research, we mastered prototyping techniques, tasked with designing a pavilion anywhere we desired. My group integrated biomicicry, pooling animal-inspired ideas to construct an impressive structure.

Despite my initial unfamiliarity, the programme proved enjoyable and enlightening, teaching me the importance of open-mindedness and eagerness to learn.
